Newcastle Dental Emergencies

It can be frightening when you lose or break a tooth or a filling drops out. If you have a dental emergency, we can help. With a team of dentists and dental specialists with hospital training in dental emergencies, we can treat any dental emergency you may have, and we'll make our best effort to see you on the same day. Our dental clinic is open on evenings and Saturdays and new patients are always welcome.

Here are some things you can do right away to assist with a dental emergency:

Lost Filling

If you lose a filling, you can temporarily fill the hole in your tooth by chewing a small piece of sugarless gum until it is soft and then placing it in the hole. This will protect the exposed part of your tooth from further injury.

Knocked Out Tooth

If you lose a tooth, you can increase your chances of it being saved and re-planted in your mouth if you put the tooth back in the socket right away. If you can't do this, you should put the tooth in a container with some cold milk and bring it to our office when you come in.

Toothache

You can get temporary relief from toothache pain by placing a cloth-covered bag of frozen vegetables or an ice pack on your face by the sore tooth. Over the counter painkillers may also help.

Time is of the essence with dental emergencies. If you suffer an injury, contact our office right away for emergency care.
