Life can be hard on your teeth. Sometimes we're born with teeth that aren't straight or even, and simple corrections can result in big improvements. Sometimes our teeth get chipped or damaged and work is needed to make their appearance smooth and even. At our dental clinic, cosmetic dentistry begins where you are, and builds on your natural attractiveness and assets. And cosmetic procedures need not be pricey; even small changes to your teeth can produce major improvements to your smile. Veneers are thin synthetic "jackets" that fit over your existing teeth to create major improvements in the evenness and colour of your smile. They are made from porcelain or composite material and are colour matched to your existing teeth. Veneers are useful for closing gaps between teeth, correcting misshapen teeth, and concealing any surface damage or stains.
The process of placing veneers consists of two steps: first, we assess your existing smile, decide on what changes you'd like to make, and take a cast of your teeth; then we remove a small amount of enamel from the teeth to be treated, temporarily place the veneers to check fit and colour, and then cement the veneers in place. Veneers are very strong and resistant to damage and staining.
Lumineers are super-thin laminates that are applied to the teeth. They can last decades and increase the aesthetic quality of your smile.
Bonding is a method of repairing chips and surface damaged to your teeth or for removing discolouration from your enamel. A special colour-matched bonding resin is placed over the area to be treated, shaped to the existing shape of your tooth, and hardened.
Contouring is a way of making small changes to the shape of your teeth by removing small amounts of enamel. It is useful for correcting chipped, unevenly spaced, oddly-shaped, overlapping or discoloured teeth, or for changing the shape or width of teeth to make your smile more even.
Ceramic crowns are synthetic teeth that are carefully designed and created to restore severely damaged, misshapen or broken teeth. They are used for teeth that would be difficult to restore with reshaping or veneers. Crowns are extremely strong and can last a decade or more.
